March 29th 2014

It's a Bird, No it's a Plane.....
Well honestly, it is that spectacular!
This year in conjunction with Michigan Tournaments we are teaming up with the "Dlux Entertainment Expo" to create one of the most inclusive, exciting and dynamic events ever to hit the Michigan Area.......

This year our Tournament will not only have Karate and Tae Kwon Do Divisions, it will also host a Grappling Division from the Elite Federation of Grapplers.

If that isn't enough we will also be hosting an Expo with Vendors, Guest Celebrities, Friday Night MMA Fights with UFC Champion Cung Le, Physical training seminars and so much more.

Saturday March 29th, 2014!

  • Michigan Tournaments.com is committed to the highest quality and prestige of the Michigan Martial Art Tournament Circuit.  Unfortunately many events are run very unprofessionally and it tends to tarnish the quality events that are out there.

  • The good news is after many years of running tournaments we have changed the perception and outcome of our events.  We have been complimented continually on the look, feel, and way our tournament is run, as well as the judging and overall professionalism of our events.  In fact, over 50 school owners have said we are simply the best.

We've received more compliments on the quality of these events then anything else.  Parents, sensei's and students have commented on how organized, clean, and fair the event was run.  People complimented the clean and organized room, the trophy quality, our facility, our overall look, the judging, and the ease of both online and day of registration.

In addition we are implementing new judges and center referee shirts to help parents and instructors see who is in charge - no questions, no guessing, no stress.

  • Attention Martial Arts Practitioners and Competitors:

    Hello,

My name is Adam D. Lux, owner of D-Lux karate, based out of Washington Twp, Michigan. I will be hosting the Michigantournaments.com State Championship tournament and D-Lux Entertainment Expo at the Gibraltar Trade Center in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, March 28th - 30th 2014.

This event will consist of a martial arts tournament featuring Karate, Tae Kwon Do, and Grappling divisions. Housed within the venue will also be a comic book convention, featuring contests, prizes, world record attempts, with martial artists and celebrities, including: Ninja Turtles Co-creator Kevin Eastman, Cung Le (UFC), Frank Dux (Bloodsport), Ernie Reyes Jr (TMNT), Daniel Pesina (Mortal Kombat), Taimak (The Last Dragon), Master Ken (Enter the Dojo), and many more!

Not only are these celebrities and martial artists attending, signing autographs, and providing photo opportunities, many will also instruct training workshops on Friday March 28th and Sunday March 30th. Think of it this way, how many times have you paid over $100 for a seminar with one person, for three hours? Our workshops feature some of the most well known and respected practitioners of the martial arts, each with a wealth of knowledge within their discipline, and a diverse offering of training opportunities, all at a great value. If you pre-register, you can train with these masters in the martial arts for 5 hours, for only $50.00!!! Please visit www.dluxexpo.com for registration information.

For the past 6 years, I have hosted the “D-Lux Charity Challenge”, which raised over $10,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation, National Scoliosis Foundation, Michigan Humane Society, Kids Kicking Cancer, Angels of Hope, and the Romeo School District. After primarily serving as a platform for Karate competition, we added Master Bill Frohreip Jr. and Tae Kwon Do divisions to our event, offering Korean Forms, Olympic Forms, and TKD Point Sparring. In 2014, we will add Grappling and martial arts workshops to our tournament lineup. We want the venue to serve as, not only a martial arts tournament, but an event celebrating martial arts in the media and popular culture - for all fans of the martial arts.

I know many schools do not compete, for one reason or another, but my goal is to have a FAIR, WELL-RUN event that has something for everyone in the family. Mom and Dad can enjoy the tournament, or many shopping opportunities inside the venue; the kids can compete, read comics, and meet celebrities. For the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan in the house, consider joining our Guinness Book of World Records attempt for “Largest Gathering of People Dressed as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle” on Friday March 28th. Personalities from the franchise, including body actors, voice actors, movie stars, and one of the creators will all be on hand, along with a full scale Turtle Van!

This event is one-of-a-kind, no other tournament venue in the state of Michigan has ever offered such a diverse group of divisions, comic books, shopping opportunities, activities within a venue, or the caliber of talent that will be present at the D-Lux Entertainment Expo and Michigan tournaments.com State Championship.

Please pass on the word to anyone who may be interested in attending. Feel free to email me for information about the event, or if you have any interest in becoming a volunteer. Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to sharing this great experience with you in March!

    Yours In spirit,

    Adam D. Lux

  • Read what one mom had to say...

    Hi Master Lux,
Your tournament was a fantastic event and all my children had a great time. These types of events teach them skills that a soccer or baseball game just cant.  Karate is not cheap, but it well worth the investment. The return you get for money invested you just cant get from other sports. I think most if not all parents would agree with this. However, I think that parents just might not have the extra money to put out for these events and that's why they choose to go to soccer or baseball. In the younger years soccer and baseball are ran locally but getting into the older years parents are willing to travel all over. I think the travel excuse is unacceptable......

Well, that is just my opinion. I do not see any other rational explanation of why any parent would choose another sport over an event like this, especially after investing so much money.

Thank again for an awesome event.
